He gave this instruction at the March crime review meeting at the Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh yesterday (April 28).

The police stations concerned have been ordered to strictly implement the directives.

Habibur said, “To prevent robberies and crime, the shops at the road junction should be closed at night. Criminals often hang out all night at these makeshift shops and rob unsuspecting people whenever they get a chance. Roadside cigarette, drink, and tea stalls should be closed after 11pm.”

He said that everyone should be vigilant so that no one can commit acts of terror or militancy. The DMP commissioner also ordered strict action against such groups.

Noting that traffic was normal during Ramadan, he said the crime division worked sincerely with DMP’s traffic division.

Habibur Rahman said, “If you see a car with a police sticker on the road, the on-duty officials must check whether it is a police car or not. Criminals often use police stickers to move around.”

He said that if it is verified that it is not a police car, then strict legal action should be taken. The crime and traffic department of DMP will keep an eye on this matter.
