Srimad Bhagavad Gita Reading Festival in Bangladesh at the historic Kantjiu Temple. About 20 thousand people read Gita together. This is the first time in Bangladesh that Gita was recited with so many voices. The event was organized by the Rangpur Divisional Holy Vedas and Srimad Bhagavad Gita Teaching Association. Bangladesh Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chand inaugurated the event. On this occasion, Sanatan religious people wish for happiness and peace of the country.

Srimad Bhagavad Gita Reading Festival organized in Bangladesh. 20 thousand people read the Gita together. The event was organized at the historic Kantji temple premises in Dinajpur. The organizers said that this is the first time in Bangladesh that so many people participated in reading the Gita together.

Why organize this?

Srimad Bhagavad Gita reading festival with 20 thousand voices in Dinajpur on Saturday. Organized by Rangpur Division Holy Vedas and Srimad Bhagavad Gita Teaching Society. Bangladesh Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chand inaugurated the event. At the same time, Sanatan religious people wish for happiness and prosperity of the country. Prafulla Kumar Roy, member secretary of the organizing committee said, “This organization has been organized to awaken religious consciousness and so that people of all religions can live in peace in Bangladesh.”

First event

The organizers said that this is the first time that so many people recited the Gita in front of the Kantjiu temple. There the first chapter, the twelfth chapter and the eighteenth chapter of the Gita are recited in 20 thousand voices. Devotees from different areas like Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Jaipurhat, Nilphamari participated in it. Also worshiped with Veda Mantra, Mahanam Japa.

Jugal Chandra Biswas who came there, Dharitri Rani Mohantara said that there was no such arrangement before. They said, “We want this kind of event every year. It will increase people’s interest in religion.” They also said that they got peace of mind after coming there and hearing Geeta’s words.

Before reading the Gita, Bangladesh Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chand and Senior Vice President of Hindu Religious Welfare Trust Manoranjan Sheel Gopal, former Member of Parliament, inaugurated the program by hoisting the flag and lighting the lamp. Narayana Chandra Chand says, “Srimad Bhagavad Gita is the words of Lord Krishna. The war that took place in Kurukshetra at that time was a religious war. Then Lord Krishna explained to Arjuna that the work of religion is to uphold human creation and humanity, to uphold religion, to uphold truth, to do good to people, to do welfare. Those who destroy destroy religion. Reciting the Gita awakens human instincts in that way. So that they follow the right path and work for public welfare.” He also said that their wish is to build a happy world by reading the Gita and loving everyone.
